Climate tech specialist Syroco has today announced the opening of its new office in Oslo, Norway, as part of an ambitious expansion scheme across Europe. The new location follows a period of massive growth, with the number of vessels deploying its Syroco Live voyage and weather optimisation platform having doubled in scale, validating the solution’s clear return on investment (ROI) and operational efficiency.
The Oslo office will serve as the commercial and service hub for Syroco’s rapidly expanding client base across Northern Europe, a region critical to global shipping and at the forefront of the industry’s decarbonisation efforts. It comes after Marseille, France-headquartered Syroco has also recently opened new offices in key maritime hubs across Europe, including Hamburg, Germany; London, the UK; and Athens, Greece.
Syroco’s platform, which leverages high-fidelity digital twins of vessels, has gained significant traction, with deployments now supporting leading carriers, including companies Odfjell and Knutsen LNG, as well as many other global players. This doubling of fleet deployment also underscores the market's demand for proven, scalable optimisation technology that delivers tangible results without compromising safety.
“The decision to establish a major presence in Oslo was a natural one, directly driven by the success and scale we have achieved with our customers,” said Alex Caizergues, CEO and co-founder of Syroco. “Doubling the number of ships upon which our technology is deployed provides concrete, undeniable evidence of the ROI our platform delivers. The ‘proof is in the fleet,’ and it shows that the industry is ready to adopt advanced digital solutions that tangibly reduce fuel consumption and emissions.”
The new Oslo office will be headed by Country Manager Jesper Fløymo, who brings extensive experience in business development for the maritime sector, including at Netsecurity, ABChus, and Nemi Forsikring AS.
“Norway is a global leader in maritime innovation, and we are committed to being a partner in its journey toward net-zero,” said Fløymo. “By placing our team directly within this vibrant hub, we can provide closer support to our growing client base and ensure they maximise the benefits of digital twin-driven voyage optimisation. Our dramatic growth shows this is the right technology at the right time.”
The move also signals Syroco’s deeper commitment to the Nordic maritime ecosystem. Syroco has joined both the Norwegian Shipping & Offshore Network (NSON) and the Maritime Oslofjord Alliance, actively participating in the collaborative push toward a sustainable maritime future.
Syroco Live is designed to complement human expertise, providing ship captains and operations teams with real-time, highly accurate decision support that includes route and power settings recommendations. This collaborative approach, combined with a strong focus on user experience and relevance, has resulted in a remarkable 86 per cent adhesion rate among crews, ensuring the sustained delivery of efficiency gains.
