German navigation specialist Anschütz has announced the delivery of the 25,000th gyrocompass in the Standard 22 series to Sweden's Furetank Rederi.

Volker Wenzel, Area Sales Manager for Scandinavia, presented Furetank with a commemorative award at the Donsö Shipping Meet this week.

"Selling 25,000 gyrocompasses is clear proof of the high quality and outstanding price-performance ratio of the Standard 22 series," said Wenzel. “We are proud that renowned shipping companies such as Furetank – which demand the utmost precision and reliability from their navigation systems – rely on Anschütz gyrocompasses.”

Furetank specialises in tanker shipping and is known for its strong commitment to safety, efficiency and sustainability. The anniversary compass was installed on board the specialised vessel MV Sigrid as part of a recent refit carried out by Anschütz’s longstanding partner Syberg Sweden.

Anschütz has been selling the Standard 22 series since 2004. The gyrocompass is characterised by its robust, high-quality design, ensuring reliable and precise navigation even under harsh conditions. It also offers extended maintenance intervals and an above-average gyrosphere service life.

The latest generation, Standard 22 NX, provides greater interface flexibility and simplified installation and configuration thanks to a web server – an important advantage, particularly for refits. In addition, the Standard 22 NX is resilient against jamming and spoofing, which is a crucial feature, especially in today’s Baltic Sea environment.
